About Me

If you look in the dictionary you will find many definitions for "sassy", ....stylish, fashionable, chic, & bold. I like to think all of those terms describe my beads and jewelry designs.

I have been creating handcrafted jewelry for many years using various types of beads and findings. One day while browsing eBay, I discovered lampwork beads and I fell in love. I am a self-taught bead maker and learned to make beads by spending hours and hours behind my torch. For quite some time it was a love-hate relationship that included a lot of practice, burned fingers and clothes, swearing, and experimentation…all of which paid off with an art form that I dearly love.

I use all the finest materials in my designs - sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, Bali & Thai silver, precious & semi-precious gemstones and/or 14k gold vermeil. I enjoy working with beads of all colors, shapes, and sizes and love to mix metals in my work. I also enjoy working with silver clay and especially enjoy combining a unique piece of silver with my beads or adding it to my designs.

My beads and jewelry are created individually by me in my Ozark studio using Moretti, Bullseye, Vetrofond, and Lauscha glasses and working on my Bethlehem Barracuda torch. Most of my designs include lampwork beads made by me. If I use beads made by another artist, I will point this out in the item description.

As for my personal life, my hubby, Jim, and I live in the Ozark mountains. We are both retired from our "day jobs" and now we raise meat goats on our little farm; it is a wonderful life. Our children are furry...we have 4 outside dogs, 2 Great Pyrenees that guard our goats, and 2 dogs that adopted us, an Anatolian Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd and I have my little inside buddy, Sonny, a Schnauzer puppy. When I am not busy with the goats or feeding all the dogs (yes, we go through a lot of dogfood), I am at my torch doing the other thing I love...making beads.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little something about me.

I have had several people suggest that I add pictures to my "about me" page.  Since we had a new baby goat born on Sunday, March 9, I thought I would add a picture of it and the rest of our family.

These 2 pictures are of the new baby, Rusty.  She is really a tiny baby but seems to be doing quite well.  The face in the foreground of the 2nd picture is momma.  The picture on the far right is our other new baby born sometime during the night of March 12...he is also doing well.

These are our furry children: Jake, Max, and Sonny, the Schnauzer playing with Jake and Max...they are good buddies.  The 3rd picture is of Jack, the Pyrenees, and part of his brood.

These are our other baby goats...they were all born in December.

Mom made us smile real pretty so we hope you enjoyed our pictures.
